Massage and Insurance
Massage and Insurance. The question comes up often at Planet Massage.
At the present time, we regret that we are not able to accept insurance. We simply feel we can be of better service to our clients by offering " in house" programs instead. Through programs such as our "Massage club" we are trying to make massage therapy an ongoing wellness available and affordable to most people. The sad fact is, insurance only works well for a small portion of the population and usually does not cover quality massage therapy very well at all. Insurance companies are getting tighter than ever and are paying less and less benefits. In addition, insurance companies typically want us to work only 15-20 minutes on a client, when our average client usually receives a hour or 90 minute massage. Then there are others who pay only a small portion and those that only offer a visit every blue moon. In reality, quite often, a series of visits is required to bring you to optimal health, and then ideally, there is maintenance. Other times companies only want to pay when something is already "broken" and your Doctor prescribes massage for a diagnosed condition. In other words, no preventative care to ward off stress or aches and pains of everyday life. Usually 'Full Body Massage" is not ocered. We believe we have a better way. We srtive to treat the body as a whole, not a sum of broken parts. Staying healthy is cheaper in the long run, and much more pleasurable. Often, clients pay more WITH insurance than we can offer them with our specialty programs and regular treatment. Many, but not all establishments that do take insurance try to cut costs by using underpaid or questionably qualified therapists. One such multi location establishment with an aggressive expansion plan in South Florida recently sent out an email looking for therapists promising they would never work hard, never do any deep tissue work, only a light and fast Swedish massage. Great... if that's all you need, but typically, people need more and deserve more. Take a look at our specials page, there is something for everyone for great savings. We are always open to discussing a payment plan that makes therapy something that is affordable to you.
Barter or Trade...We have arranged some very successful professional barter arrangements in the past. Have something you might want to trade? Ask! You never know. We are open to suggestions, and can always use help with our promotional department, passing fliers, or making contacts with local businesses among other things.

The Wild Divine.....
Well, we are off on a journey. A journey to the wild divine. We just received our new Wild Divine biofeedback package from UPS the other day and as usual, my lovely wife, myself and my therapists are busy testing the product. There has already been such a great response, we have almost sold out of our first shipment of units already!
It really does seem to be an amazing program and we are looking forward to all of the positive benefits of biofeedback, breathing and meditation including the pain & stress relief & more.
We will be keeping you up to date on our experiences as they happen and we progress in the program. Both my wife and myself experienced a calmer, deeper sleep that we have in a long time after just working with the program for 15 minutes! Not bad at all, I'm really excited about the possibilities of being able to help others quite their mind too, so we can all find a little more peace and happiness in this hectic world we are living in.
